What About Internships?

These are harder to come by, and often associated with an upper level CATE class or very specific career interests.  Internships provide hands-on learning in an area of student interest. The protégé works regularly during or after school for three or more hours a week in exchange for the mentor’s time in teaching and demonstrating. The internship generally lasts from three to six months and could possibly include financial compensation.

These experiences often require an application, interview and other specifics so please see Mrs. Brackett or your teacher if you have a specific internship in mind.

If you are interested in a career in the homebuilding trades, check out                                summer internship program, where you are able to learn about several different areas of the homebuilding process in one summer. For graduates, this is an excellent opportunity that may lead to full time employment!
